It started with the goal to explore Risograph as an artistic practice after learning it outside of a school setting (hence its name 'Bad Student') where it fully embraced its DIY publishing process. It's the first independent Art Risograph Press in the Philippines since 2017. We have focused on creating art books and prints, showcasing a collection of works from local communities in the Philippines. In 2024, Bad Student opened another studio in Sunnyside, New York. The studio has been producing and participating in community efforts to highlight and expand the DIY publishing culture in Queens.
